Product Versus Performance Warranties - What's the Difference?
All solar panels come with two types of warranties: a product warranty and a performance warranty, and it's important to carefully consider what's included in both.
The performance guarantee guarantees that the performance of a panel will not decrease beyond a certain point over a certain period of time. Most performance guarantees are valid for 25 years, with the main difference being how much power your panels are guaranteed to still produce during those 25 years.
The product warranty, considered the most important part of the homeowner's warranty, covers defects in materials and workmanship. Basically, if a panel stops working or malfunctions for reasons that are not your fault, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

25 Year Limited Product Warranty:
This Limited Product Warranty warrants that for a period of 25 years, the applicable solar panels will be free from defects in materials and workmanship that adversely affect the functionality of the solar panels under normal conditions of application, installation, use and service, as is specified in Apex Solar's standard product documentation.
25 Year Limited Performance Warranty:
This Limited Performance Warranty guarantees that, for a period of 25 years, the applicable solar panels will maintain a level of performance as detailed below:
In the first year, Apex Solar guarantees that the actual energy output of the solar modules will not be less than 98% of the labeled energy output.
De la anul 2 până la anul 25, declinul anual real al puterii nu va fi mai mare de 0,55%; până la sfârșitul anului 25, producția reală de energie nu va fi mai mică de 84,8% din producția de energie etichetată.
